Division 4

 Blaauwklippen Aquatics CLUB

Swimming for the sake of Swimming

We want to maintain the level of skill the toddlers have mastered up to this point.

Division 4 is about swimming for the sake of swimming. Children play at swimming like they play at walking.

Toddlers who have graduated to a level of swimming ability, from which they cannot progress, because of developmental limitations (because of their age), stay in division 4 until they are physically ready to perform the movements required for style swimming. This is usually not before the age of 4 -5 years.

Obstacle courses, games, slides and diving sticks keep them exploring and practising every skill they have mastered so far.

When a toddler graduates from the Blaauwklippen Aquatics Learn to Swim Program, he/she can jump in, swim 8 meters with breathing, roll onto his/her back, swim 4 meters on his/her back, and climb out. He/She can do this completely independently, comfortably and consistently.
